Minneapolis Woman Offers Free Hugs to Strangers

During last evening's WCCO-TV 10 p.m. news, there was a delightful story about a young woman who strolled along Minneapolis' Chain of Lakes [left], holding a sign that read, "FREE HUGS." Guess what? She got lots of win-win takers/givers -- including what appeared to be an entire family of five or six, who engaged her in a big group hug.

After enduring the bloody and painfully sad images from Monday's Virginia Tech massacre, and then learning about yesterday's murder-suicide shooting at NASA, WCCO-TV's story was a refreshing reprieve. Let's hear it for news crews who bring us positive stories now and then -- and for those people who help make the world so much brighter!
